Last Saturday was the 3rd edition of VConnect’s SME conference. Just like the previous two editions, the conference was held in conjunction with Facebook.
This edition trained businesses on how to build websites for themselves using VConnect Sites, Boosting their Business with Facebook and Online lead generation.
I was there to take pictures and give social media updates, I was filling in for Abdulkareem our social media guy who isn’t feeling well at the moment, get well soon bro.
The event was a great time for Nigerian entrepreneurs present at the event to share and gain new insights about online marketing. As the event was wound up, I cornered some these Nigerian entrepreneurs to ask them about their business and their impressions of the conference.
Who they are
Gabriel Okugbe owns a Mobile and Web Applications development company called Gabtechweb.
He has been doing that for 12 years now and has been on VConnect for five years.
“I was excited to learn about Instagram plugins for advertising, I have been using Facebook for online marketing, so I will look into using Instagram having learned how to use that for my business at the conference”.
Jumoke owns the makeup outfit Eyesome beauty, a craft she has been into since 2013. As at the time we spoke with her she didn’t have her business on Vconnect. Luckily for her, she was one of the two winners of premium listings worth N200,000.00 on VConnect.
She says she is looking forward to more business and sales as a result of this.
Omolola’s Pops Concepts is a Beauty trade events & fairs company. She loves using Social media to promote her business, often going on Facebook live during events she manages.
Her takeaway from the conference? More consistency with video to create more engagements. And now that she has claimed her business and updated the information on her profile she is looking to use VConnect to promote her business even more.
Olumide Bola of Victolay Technologies Limited is a VConnect veteran. His business has been VConnect since 2011. He says he was looking for a search engine to list his business on at the time, He has been on there since, now as a claimed business providing ICT solutions such as Website design, Software development, Website hosting, Bulk SMS services and Consultancy services.
After the conference, he plans to use Facebook for Business more consistently, also wants to use tools like Boomerang and Hyperlapse to create more engaging content.
