SME Conference 1.0: all the presentations you really want to see

On 19th of January, VConnect and Freebasics for Facebook brought together SMEs to interact on ways to best use technology to improve their business. If you were fortunate to be there, bet you were enlightened, and if you weren’t, fret not. Here are highlights from some presentations at the event: Oluyomi’s keynote address We kicked off with an introduction by VConnect’s own Deepankar Rustagi who is the Managing Director, after which the first keynote speaker, Oluyomi Ojo CEO of Printivo.com took the stage. Last week was the SME Conference 1.0 and this is everything that happened

Two months ago, the official email kicking off the SME Conference came in from the management. Many months before, Facebook had told us of their intention to partner with us. After many days of hard-work and preparation by our team, the SME Conference 1.0 happened on Thursday, 19th, January, 2017. Over the last six years, VConnect has hosted knowledge transfer sessions for small businesses, but the SME Conference was going to be our biggest outing yet. We pulled all the stops on this one. With the help of Facebook, Diamond Bank, Airtel and our other partners, it turned out exactly how we hoped. Here’s what happened: Early arrivals. We admitted 200 entrepreneurs for the SME Conference and people turned up early.

Here is the brilliant line-up of speakers at the SME Conference 1.0 ( can you tell how excited we are?) 1. Tayo Oviosu - Paga Founder and CEO of Paga, Tayo has over sixteen years of experience in a variety of technical and business roles in High-tech and Private Equity. Right before Paga, he was Vice President at Travant Capital Partners where he was responsible for executing the firm‘s investment strategy in West Africa. Aside his work at Paga, Tayo also ...
